Positive action is a range of measures allowed under the Equality Act 2010 which can be lawfully taken to encourage and train people from under-represented groups to help them overcome disadvantages in competing with other applicants.

Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR)

There may be occasions where you have a legitimate reason to apply a genuine occupational requirement to a post that would directly discriminate against certain groups applying. For example, a female worker in a women’s refuge.

Like with Positive Action this will need to assessed though the Equality Impact Assessment tool, all evidence considered and Director level sign off to implement.
